Underground Valve Vault
In many Romtec Utilities complete pump stations, the valve assembly is prefabricated within a precast concrete or fiberglass underground vault. Valves and other equipment within the vault are preassembled and pressure tested by Romtec before shipment to the project site. The complete vault can be placed with a crane into the excavated site. This saves many hours, even days, of tedious and expensive site construction.
Precast Concrete Vaults – Romtec’s precast concrete vaults are specified for the individual project. Vault size, depth and all penetrations are predetermined in Romtec’s designs. Most vaults are in two sections, the vault body and the top slab with hatch. In projects requiring an extra deep vault there may be three or more sections.
Fiberglass Vaults – Romtec offers fiberglass vaults with completely prefabricated and pressure tested valve assemblies.
Hatches – The top of the valve vault is equipped with a completely prefabricated hatch, designed to the individual requirements of the project. Security and safety equipment is included in the design.
Penetrations & Seals – Romtec vaults include all necessary penetrations and seals with piping to the outside for fast and easy connection to the wet well discharge piping and the force main.
Lifting Anchors – All Romtec Utilities vaults include the correct lifting fixtures for easy handling by a crane at the project site.
