Pump Accessories

A variety of pump accessories can be specified and supplied in your Romtec Utilities pump station. Below is a list of the most common of these items:

Pre-installed Pump Discharge Elbows & Coupling Adapters – The pump discharge elbows are pre-mounted to the base of the wet well when the pump station is delivered to the project site. Each elbow is supplied with a restrained flange coupling adapter to securely join the discharge pipe to the elbow.

Pump Guide Rails – Also called guide bars, these are the stainless steel pipes that are used to guide a submersible pump as it is lowered or raised within the wet well. The guide rails connect between the pump discharge elbow mounted to the bottom of the wet well and the hatch frame at the top of the wet well. There are two rails per pump that catch the pump guide bracket, thus keeping the pump properly aligned.

Grip Eye – This special tool grips the chain attached to the top of a submersible pump, making it possible to raise or lower the pump without entering the wet well. The grip eye is shackled to the end of the pump lifting cable. It is lowered down the pump cable or chain to a point just above the pump. When lifted, the grip eye engages a link of the chain, making it possible to safely lift the pump.

Davit Crane – To handle the pumps, Romtec Utilities offers a davit crane mounted to the wet well’s top slab. The crane can be operated manually or with an optional electric motor.

Stainless Steel Lifting Cables & Chain – Romtec Utilities supplies the necessary stainless steel cables, chain, shackles and fasteners to provide for assured handling of the pumps.

Cord Grips – Each pump’s electrical cord is suspended from a hook mounted to the wet well hatch frame. The cord is held by a stainless steel cord grip. This device holds the cord securely without pinching or possibly damaging the cord’s outer insulation.
